How Vancouver got half of its citizens out of their cars
Residents of Vancouver has made a drastic change to their lifestyle as over 50% of their commute is completed via bike, public transit, or on foot. To foster this type of environment, Vancouver made investments in updating its infrastructure and developing an attractive marketing campaign.
Back in 2012, the city set a goal to shift half of its traffic to “sustainable modes” by 2020. Last year, the city achieved that goal, a full five years earlier than expected.
